On October 24, 1954, Joyce married Cecil D. Kinzie at the United Methodist Church in Anita, Iowa. The couple spent their lives in the Anita area where they farmed, operated K & K Bait Shop, K & W Oil and Kinzie Service Station. She was proud of the fact that she purchased her first automatic washing machine by crawling around with knee pads on and holding a flashlight and coffee can to catch and sell night crawlers for 25 cents a dozen.
Joyce had a special smile that could light up a room with warmth and love. Over the years she enjoyed bowling, playing cards, puzzles, gardening, playing guitar, singing, cheerleading and cooking, especially fried eggs with a crispy brown edge and soft center. She also made the best fried chicken, potato salad, chicken and noodles, and home canned tomato juice. She enjoyed Taco Tuesday with her friends from work and going out with all of her classmates to lunch and socializing with them. She collected and loved her angels. She liked to tell people to "Git-R-Done".
Her special pets where Peaches, Lady and PeeWee. The greatest pleasure in her life was from her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Valerie Robbins and her husband, Lyle Sr. of Anita, IA; three sons, Marty of Anita, IA, Jeff and special friend Lisa, of Audubon, IA, Stanley and wife Sue of Anita, IA; a stepson, Robert Leftridge and wife Lisa, of Treynor, IA; 8 grandchildren, Chuck and Andi of Anita, IA, Donnie and Kim of Adel, IA, Angel and Jerry of Creston, IA, Josh and Tawna of Creston, IA, Stephanie of Anita, IA, Chrissy of Maryville, Missouri, Nathan of Adair, IA, Betty-Jean (BJ) of Anita, IA; and 2 step-grandchildren, Lyle Jr. and wife Stacy, of Harlan, IA, Lylina and husband, Doug of Elkader, IA.
