Judy Cohrs

Judy Lee Cohrs, 71, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at her home in Atlantic, Iowa.

Judy was born May 9, 1946, in Glenwood, Iowa, to Richard and Minnie (Grauf) Gleason. She grew up in Griswold and graduated from Griswold High School in 1963.

On February 16, 1964, Judy married Dennis Cohrs at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. They lived and farmed in rural Lewis, IA, until they moved to Atlantic in 1979. She also worked at Robinson True Value Hardware for 25 years.

Judy was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. She loved to work with her potted flowers. Judy also enjoyed cooking. Her greatest love was having Sunday dinners and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Gleason and her father/mother-in-law, Harold and Barb Cohrs.

Judy is survived by her husband, Dennis Cohrs of Atlantic, IA; her children, Gregg (Colleen) Cohrs of Lewis, IA, Brenda (Jeb) Peck of Atlantic, IA, and Mike (Ligia) Cohrs of rural Lewis, IA; grandchildren, Alex Dvorak, Jake Dvorak, Zach Cohrs, Hunter Cohrs, Cable Cohrs, Morgan Dvorak, Ashley Cohrs, Nicole Perkins and Tia Cohrs; great-grandchildren, Lillith Perkins, Hannah Perkins, Justice Perkins, Brayden Long and Halston and Evander Johnson; her mother, Minnie Gleason of Atlantic, IA; and sisters, Jan Davies of Belview, NE and Patti Larson of Griswold.

Visitation with family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a Scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, IA, with burial in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa, at a later date.

Memorials may be left to the family’s wishes to be designated at a later date.
