Karol Andersen

Karol K. Andersen was born on April 3, 1938. Her parents were William and Ann Giese. She was raised with two brothers and one sister. Karol graduated from Exira High School in 1956. After high school, she worked as a telephone operator. Later, she worked various other jobs but was mainly a homemaker.

In 1959, Karol was united in marriage to Milo Andersen. From their union, two daughters, Kristi and Kellie, were born.

Karol loved planting flowers, taking long walks, and being out in nature. She is probably best known for her love of cats and was called “The Cat Woman”.

Karol died peacefully on January 22, 2020, at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.

Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings.

Survivors include her daughter Kellie and her husband Rex Davis of Audubon, her daughter Kristi and her husband Tim Gallagher from New Jersey; her grandson Zachary and his girlfriend Laura Jean; and her great-granddaughter, Scarlett, and granddaughter Isabella, all from St. Cloud, MN. Karol is also survived by her companion of 25 years, Larry Mulford, along with friends that she knew for many years.

Per Karol’s request, cremation will take place and there will be no formal services.

Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
