Kathryn Paulsen

Kathryn E. Paulsen, 59, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at the Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Kathryn was born December 5, 1957, to Darrell E. and Georgia E. (Mounger) Paulsen in Atlantic, Iowa. She attended school in Atlantic and graduated from the Atlantic High School in 1976. After graduation, she attended Iowa Western for a couple of years.

She had worked as the secretary to the principal, Mr. Eblen, at the Atlantic High School from 1978 until 1983.

She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she had volunteered at the parish center. Kathryn also enjoyed needle point, crocheting, having cookouts with her girlfriends and spending time with her dogs, Mikey and Bruiser.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents, Darrell and Georgia Paulsen; and a stepbrother, Bobby Paulsen.

Kathryn is survived by a brother, Darrell Paulsen of Jewell, IA; a sister, Mona (Rodney) Petersen of Atlantic, IA; halfsisters, Trudy Edner of Atlantic, IA, and Judy Miller of Atlantic, IA; nephews, Rodney (Bobbi) Petersen of Audubon, IA, Jeremy Petersen and his fiancé, Jaydree Bird of Atlantic, IA, Travis Petersen of Ft. Dodge, IA and Brian (Jodi) Edner of Newnan, GA; niece, Jennifer Muzney of Atlantic, IA; great-nieces/nephews, Dakota Miller, Phoenix Shadden, Cayman Muzney, Jaycub and Jaidyn Petersen, Jericho Petersen, Jersey Phippen, and Ashlie and Madison Edner.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Burial will be in the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery.
