Kelly Ann Sandvig, age 63, of Atlantic, IA, passed away at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, NE, on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Kelly was born on July 28, 1960, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, IA, the daughter of Donald and Marvel (Cruickshank) Sandvig. She was the youngest of five children in their family. Kelly graduated from Rolfe Community Schools in 1979; she then furthered her education at ICCC in Fort Dodge, IA, to obtain classes in business management. Kelly worked at Precision Battery and Pronto Gas Station for many years and also sold Avon. Kelly enjoyed listening to country music. She went to Nashville, TN, twice to Opryland to see her favorite singers, Helen Cornelius, Barbara Mandrell, and Reba McEntire. Some of her favorite TV shows were the Voice of Presleys' Country Jubilee on RFD-TV and other country music award shows. Kelly also enjoyed horses, and dogs and collecting porcelain dolls. Kelly took great joy in watching her great nieces and nephews in many volleyball and football games. Before Kelly's health started to decline, she enjoyed being outdoors riding her moped or going on a nice walk. In June of 2023, she had a stoke; which led her to move to Atlantic to live with her brother Ron and sister-in-law Kay Sandvig.
Kelly is survived by her two brothers, Jerry and Jim (Diana) Sandvig, both of Rolfe, IA; and sister-in-law Kay Sandvig of Altantic; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Don and Marvel; sister, Kristy Hammer; brother, Ron Sandvig; and her dogs Alisha and Frisco.
Interment for both Kelly and Ron will be held at a later date at the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe, IA.
Services are handled by the staff of Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Atlantic, IA.
