Linda Ann Hennick

September 20, 1949 — January 15, 2022

Linda Ann Hennick, the daughter of Elliott and Amanda (Wiechman) Rasmussen, was born September 20, 1949, in Lompac, California and died January 15, 2022, at her home in Exira, Iowa at the age of 72, years, 3 months, and 25 days. The family lived in Buellton, California for a short time then moved to rural Audubon, Wiota, and then Atlantic, Iowa.
Linda was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. She attended school in Wiota. In 1960, they moved to Atlantic. Linda then attended the Atlantic Community Schools and graduated from the Atlantic High School with the Class of 1968. For six months after high school, she lived in Omaha and worked at Bell Telephone Company.
On January 25, 1969, she was united in marriage to Terry Wilson at the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic and moved to Exira, Iowa. They were blessed with four children Karen, Travis, Ryan, and Nathan. She stayed home with the kids and took care of the home until 1979 when she began working at Exira Care Center. The family purchased the feed store located near the main street in Exira and renamed it Wilson Feed and Seed. Linda helped at the feed store until it closed and continued working at the Exira Care Center in various capacities over the years until her retirement in 2020.
On October 18, 1997, she married Robert Hennick at the Exira Lutheran Church. Linda and Bob purchased an acreage east of Exira. There was an old house on the property, so together they completely gutted the house and remodeled it into their special living space. They enjoyed traveling and Linda loved to garden, and she especially loved tending to her flowers and birds. Bob died March 22, 2009. Linda lived on the acreage for a couple of years before she moved into her present home in Exira in 2011.
Since moving to town, Linda enjoyed going “junkin” with her friends, garage sales, and her many “girl trips”. She enjoyed quilting and made a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren. Linda enjoyed her flower garden and watching the birds. Her favorite foods were Doritos and ice cream. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband Pastor Robert W. Hennick; her infant daughter Karen Diane Wilson; her parents; her siblings Myrna Kersey, Ronald Rasmussen, Ernest Rasmussen; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Waugh and Craig Waugh.
Survivors include her sons: Travis and wife Kimberly Wilson of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, Ryan and wife Amber Wilson of Exira, Iowa, and Nathan and wife Jackie Wilson of Hamlin; her grandchildren Garrett and wife Jodi Wilson of Exira, Miranda Redalen of Waukee, Iowa, Evan Wilson of Exira, Shelbi Wilson of Des Moines, Iowa, Eric Wilson and Michelle Wilson of Exira, and Lucas Wilson of Hamlin, her step-children: Terri and husband Rodney Harris and Betsy and husband Kyle Kitelinger all of Exira; her step-grandchildren Joseph Harris of Waukee, Iowa, Samantha Harris of Del City, Oklahoma, Taylor Harris, Fred Harris, Josh Harris, and Robert Harris all of Exira, Iowa, Carter and wife Paige Kitelinger of Ames, Iowa, Hudson Kitelinger of Churdan, Iowa and fiancé Sarah Marshall of Exira, and Sophie Kitelinger of Exira; her brothers Lee and wife Mary Rasmussen of Ames, Iowa, Steven and wife DeEtta Rasmussen of Ft.
