Linda Mennenoh

January 10, 1947 — September 9, 2025

Audubon

Mrs. Linda Lou (Hansen) Mennenoh, age 78 of Audubon, IA, passed away on Tuesday, Sept 9, 2025, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, IA.

Linda was born on January 10, 1947, in Carroll, IA, to Emmert Andrew and Irene Margart (Nielsen) Hansen. Linda attended Viola Schools K-8th grade, then went to Audubon High School, graduating with the class of 1965. On June 19, 1965, she was united in marriage to Eugene Mennenoh at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Audubon, IA. To this union, two children were born: Lisa Eileen and Daniel Eugene.

When her children were young, Linda was a stay-at-home mother and 4-H leader. Linda loved to bake, garden, and raise flowers. She also helped her husband run their farm. In 1980, they started a landscape business, G&L Lawnscapes, where Linda kept the books and helped with the mowing and selling of plants and trees. Even with all the responsibilities she had in running their business, Linda was able to maintain a loving home life for her children and husband.

In retirement, Linda enjoyed quilting and reading, but most of all she enjoyed having family over. She was an excellent cook and loved to host gatherings. She also hosted many afternoon coffee time get-togethers with family and friends, but her favorite coffee times were the ones that her great-grandchildren came to.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed greatly.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mennenoh; parents, Emmert and Irene Hansen; parents-in-law, G. Reinhard and Rose Mennenoh; sister, Gloria Clausen; and brother-in-law, Don Bybee.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Lisa Mennenoh-Daisy and her husband, Rex of Dakota City, IA; son Daniel Mennenoh and his wife Kelly, of Audubon, IA; grandchildren Kaitlyn Daisy-Haynes and her husband Andy, Wade Mennenoh and his wife Bre, Cole Mennenoh, Shelbie Akers and her husband Brandon; great-grandchildren Caden Akers, Evan Akers, Greyson Akers, Axlie Akers, Haisley Mennenoh, and Wrenley Mennenoh. Her siblings, Carol (Lanny) Clausen, Debbie Bybee, Kim (Doug) Peterson, Mitch (Michelle) Hansen, and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Audubon, IA, with committal to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
