Linda Overturf

Linda Overturf, 70, of Fonda, Iowa, and formerly of Grand Junction, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda.

Linda was born February 24, 1948, in Boone, Iowa, to Laverne and Mary E.G. (Meyers) Miers. She attended East Greene Community Schools in Grand Junction, Iowa, Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Iowa State University where she obtained her Master Gardener degree.

She lived in Boone, Iowa, Glendale, California, Grand Junction, Iowa, Adair, Iowa, and Storm Lake, Iowa. She worked at Edna’s Restaurant in Grand Junction and DeKalb Seeds in Perry, Iowa. Linda also cleaned houses for various people. She was the owner of Garden Rails Landscaping for 10 years.

Linda married William Edward Overturf on April 2, 1977, in Boone, Iowa.

She was a member of the Christian Life Center and Iowans for Israel. Linda loved gardening, writing, animals and model railways.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William in 2015.

Linda is survived by two sons, Nathanial (Molli) Overturf and Shawn (Amy) Miers; three daughters, Shannon (Galen) Miers Crozier, Sarah (Cory) Edmunds and Stephanie (Shawna) Johnson-Miers; 15 grandchildren, Abigail, Piper, Peyton, Camden and Madalynn Overturf; Luke, Brett, Madilyn, Morgan and Emily Miers; Shaunessey, Connor and Meara Crozier; and Evangeline and Greyson Johnson-Miers; ten nieces and nephews; two great-nieces; three brothers-in-law, Joseph (Michele) Overturf, Jerry (Shaunae) Overturf and John Overturf; Godchildren, Gene, Jessica and Colton Schneiders.

Visitation with family will be from 9:30 until time of services at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2018, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Grand Junction Cemetery in Grand Junction, Iowa.

Memorials may be left to Habitat for Humanity.
