Loren Scholl

Loren Scholl, 75, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was born February 1, 1941, in Adair, Iowa, the son of Leo and Martha (Moore) Scholl. Loren was raised on the family farm in rural Anita, Iowa, with his brother Galen. Growing up, he enjoyed sports. Loren left the family farm in the 1960s and moved to Colorado where he began driving a truck, which continued as a long career in the trucking industry. He retired from trucking and moved back to help Galen run the family farm. Loren also enjoyed spending the winters in Laughlin, Nevada.

Loren is survived by his son, Mike (Keeta) Scholl of Carmichael, California; his daughter, Stephanie (Scott) Magennis of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, Amber and Austin Scholl and Sabrina Magennis; his brother, Galen (Sharon) Scholl of Anita, Iowa; a niece Jodi Scholl of Council Bluffs, Iowa; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Martha Scholl, and his nephew, Jon Scholl.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Hockenberry Family Care in Anita, Iowa.

A private interment of cremains will take place at a later date.

A time for visitation and refreshments will take place at the Anita Community Center in Anita, Iowa, following the memorial service.
