Lucy Marie Cohrs, age 17, of Lewis, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Cass Health in Atlantic, Iowa.
Lucy came into the world like a spitfire and never let up. As a child, she was sweet, silly, and full of personality. With her chubby cheeks and Cheshire grin, she knew exactly how to wrap people around her little finger—just ask her Papa and Jean. She was straightforward, opinionated, and never afraid to speak her mind.
Lucy spent much of her childhood at the Lewis Park, where she could usually be found outside with friends. Alongside her cousin Maggie, she made countless memories and adventures around town. As she grew older, she truly found her voice. Lucy was the undisputed queen of roasting, and no one was safe—family, friends, teachers, or authority figures. Yet when Lucy loved someone, there was never any doubt about it.
Her passion for soccer was unmatched. Watching Lucy on the field was like watching a conductor lead a symphony—only with a lot more yelling, laughter, and the occasional colorful language. She approached life with energy, humor, loyalty, and a fierce devotion to the people she cared about.
Lucy had a gift for making people laugh and creating stories that would be retold for years. Whether she was scaring the daylights out of her Grandma Jean or teasing her Papa, she brought joy and excitement wherever she went. She often said she would wait until she turned 18 to tell her parents about all of her adventures, and now those who shared those memories with her are encouraged to carry them forward.
Above all else, Lucy was loyal. She was the kind of person who would do whatever was needed for the people she loved. She was an amazing daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. The world will not be the same without her. Not only will she be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, but by all those who never had the opportunity to meet her and experience the joy she brought to others.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Ryan and Sarah Archibald; her brothers, Tyler (Erica) Archibald and their children, Declan and Davina, Sage (Carlie Winchester) Archibald, and Skeeter Cohrs; her grandparents, Don and Jean Cohrs and Bonnie and Kevin Archibald; and her beloved dogs, Winnie and Waffles, and cat, Cheeto; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
