Lyle Fleming, 62, passed away at home September 30,2026
Lyle Alan Fleming was born February 24,1964 to Don & Billie (Wallen) Fleming at the Millington Naval Hospital in Memphis, TN.
He spent his early life in California until 1971 when his Father retired from the US Navy and the family moved to Council Bluffs, IA. He was a hard worker from the start taking on odd jobs and a paper route with his brother who was his best friend. He worked at the Council Bluffs Nonpareil under both of his parents at different times.
In 1979 the family moved to Atlantic, IA. He worked odd jobs and then at LeVine’s, Jamie Stoudt Ford & Orscheln’s. He then went to work at Todd & Sargent Inc. building grain silos, becoming a welder and millwright, working there for 18 years.
In May 2013 he had a massive stroke altering his life forever. But with true Lyle determination he soldiered on and tried to make the best of things.
In July 1984 his son and best friend Michael was born. In January 1987 his daughter Abigail was born. He tried to be the best Father he could be. Working construction didn’t leave a lot of time being home. He wasn’t perfect but he did love his family. The grandkids he was around were the light of his eye.
He loved watching NASCAR and was a huge Kyle Busch fan. He was a lifelong 49ers fan
He is the BEST brother a guy could ask for.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and cousins, Mike & Dennis Fleming.
Surviving is his brother Glenn Fleming of Atlantic, IA, son Michael Fleming & Autumn Crecelius of Anita, IA, a daughter Abigail Lambertsen of Killeen, TX, 3 grandsons & 5 granddaughters. Many cousins and friends. Cats, Newman, Speckles, Emelia, Spot & Tiger.
The family would like to thank the many health professionals who cared for him over the years. He loved you all and appreciated all you did for him as do we!
A special Thank you to Cass EMS for always being there when we needed them including being there in the end.
