Lyle Pedersen

Lyle Edward Pedersen, 79, of Harlan, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home in Harlan.

Lyle was born April 26, 1936, in Gates, Iowa, to Nels and Edna (Gearhardt) Pedersen. He attended country school until 8th grade. He lived most of his life in Audubon County until he retired, at which time he moved to Harlan, Iowa. Lyle worked in construction, welding, farming and selling feed. Lyle was married to MarJean Zaiger on May 31, 1957, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

He was a member of the Brayton Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. The farming life never left Lyle.

Preceding Lyle in death were his parents; a brother, Lloyd; a niece, Vicki Parker; and a nephew, Steven Pedersen.

Lyle is survived by his children, Alan (Jackie) Pedersen of Gretna, NE, Kert (Julie) Pedersen of Sandy, UT, Tammie (Steve) Nelson of Marne, IA, and Lila (Marty) Bintner of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Joe Pedersen, Austin Pedersen, Jocelyn Pedersen, Caleb Nelson, Luke Nelson, Hannah Nelson, Vincent Licata and Margo Licata; a great-granddaughter, Lucia Licata; a brother, Wayne Pedersen of Atlantic, IA; and a sister, Wanda Nelson of Exira, IA.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 5, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, IA. Family will visit with friends at a luncheon held in Hockenberry's Community Room following the memorial service.
