Lynn Ann Riesenberg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Born on November 5, 1965, to Richard and Sharon Gamage, Lynn was known for her loving and gentle spirit. She was a true beacon of kindness and quiet strength to all who knew her.
Lynn’s life was forever changed when she met the love of her life, Allen Riesenberg, on a cross-country trail ride. They were united in marriage on April 30, 1988. Together, they built a beautiful and loving family. She was a devoted mother to her son, Samuel Riesenberg, and his wife, Ashley, of Carroll, and her daughter, Sarah Murray, and her husband, Jake, of Audubon. Lynn found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, Gavin Murray, Raelynn Murray, and Kensley Riesenberg.
Raised in Pekin, Illinois, Lynn graduated from Pekin High School in 1983. After starting her family, she pursued her calling in healthcare, earning her registered nursing degree, followed by both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in leadership. Her compassion, dedication, and selfless heart defined her nearly 20-year career at St. Anthony Regional Hospital’s Dialysis Unit, where she faithfully served as director.
Lynn embraced life fully and joyfully. She loved the outdoors and being surrounded by nature. Traveling, horseback riding, and shopping were among her favorite pastimes. Lynn and her family shared many cherished vacations to South Dakota, Colorado, and California, and she often invited her children to accompany her on work-related trips. Lynn and Allen also traveled throughout the United States with their horses, creating countless treasured memories together. Above all, her favorite moments were those spent with family—especially shopping trips with her daughter and granddaughter.
As we say goodbye to Lynn Ann Riesenberg, we celebrate a life well lived—a journey shown through love, service, and a spirit that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will live on forever.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Lynn is also survived by her mother Sharon Gamage, of Illinois; her brother Barry Gamage and his wife Janice of Illinois; her sisters, Katie Sanders of Michigan and Kim Crowe of Illinois; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in Audubon. A small private Burial with family will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery in Roselle, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Lynn's name and can be sent in care of Schmidt Family Funeral Home to P.O. Box 201, Audubon, IA 50025.
