Maddox Matthew Starmer

Maddox Matthew Starmer, the son of Matthew Lee and Melissa Leigh Starmer, was born October 15, 2013, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Maddox was born with a congenital heart defect and after battling this condition for two months and four days died December 19, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. During his life, Maddox spent his days teaching strength, determination, and will to those who surrounded him. Maddox was preceded in death by his uncle Chad Starmer and his great grandparents. Survivors include his parents; Matt and Melissa Starmer and his brother Mason Starmer all of Audubon, Iowa; his grandparents; Eldon and Linda Starmer and Robert and Esther Trausch; his aunts; Tricia and husband Jeff Hoffman and Michelle Trausch; cousins, great aunts, great uncles, other relatives and many friends.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Diagonal Cemetery in Diagonal, Iowa at 3:00 P.M. Monday.

Visitation:
The family will meet with friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.

Service:
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Doug Opp on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa.
