Mark Albert Wede

Mark Albert Wede, the son of Raymond and Audrie (Hughes) Wede was born October 31, 1968 in Audubon, Iowa, and died December 6, 2019 near Carson, Iowa, at the age of 51 years, 1 month, and 5 days.

Mark was baptized and confirmed at the Gray United Methodist Church and attended Gray Consolidated Schools through sixth grade, then attended Audubon Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 1987. Shortly after, Mark started driving truck for his father.

On June 22, 1991, he was united in marriage to Susan Larsen at the Broadway United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were blessed with six daughters: Allison, Elizabeth, Mary, Sara, Wendy and Leslie.

In 1995, he purchased his own truck, pulling for his father; Ray Wede, Pat McCuen, R & J Wegner, Bob Asberry, and Mike Klocke. During his short break from driving truck he worked for Puck Enterprises and later Cory Handlos. Mark continued hauling livestock, averaging as many as 200,000 miles a year.

Mark was a member of the Gray United Methodist Church. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping his many friends farm, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife Sue, his daughters, grandchildren, many friends and other family.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Wede; his sisters, Roseanne Wede and Sheila Rudolph; his father- and mother-in-law, Orville and Mary Larsen; his niece, ShyAnne Larsen.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Wede of Audubon; his daughters: Allison Wede and significant other Eric Borkowski, Elizabeth Wede, Mary Wede, Sara Wede, and Wendy and husband Brian Wittrock, all of Audubon, Leslie Weitl of San Marcos, Texas, and Brett Weitl of Templeton, IA; his grandchildren, Brenna Wittrock, Garrett Wittrock, Landen Wittrock, Jackson Wittrock, and Kayden Wittrock, all of Audubon; his mother, Audrie Wede of Audubon; his brother and sister, Mike and wife Linda Wede and Lisa Powell and significant other Jeff Moreland of Audubon; his brother- and sister-in-law, Lori and husband John Beverage and Tim and wife Sandra Larsen, all of Honey Creek, Iowa; Micki Petersen of Audubon, IA; nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family will greet friends Friday evening, December 20, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Ben Unseth on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers will be Kenny Petersen, Brian Kennebeck, Brent Madsen, Curt Behrens, Steve Zinke, John Schulz, Junior Fleming, Kent Inman, Paul Nielsen, Ronald Nielsen, Cooper Nielsen, Jim Brannan, Cole Bruch, Cody Bruch, Larry Bray, and Curtis Creed. Casket bearers will be Randy Bruch, Mike Bruch, Brian Bruch, Mike Klocke, Robert Nielsen, Brad Stroeher, Jeremy Friedrichsen, and Garold "Gird" Sorensen.
