Michael Dunn

Michael Edwin Dunn, 60, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

Mike was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on August 11, 1956, the son of Carl and Karola (Maschmeyer) Dunn.

Mike was a member of AmVets, enjoyed Challenger basketball, the State Fair and rooting on his favorite sports team. He was an avid concert goer, and, as a lifelong learner, enjoyed participating in a variety of classes.

Mike is survived by his father, Carl Dunn; stepmother, Marlene Dunn; brother, Steve Dunn; sisters, Christy (Mark) Corzine, Stacy (Todd) Dunn and Jennifer (Allen) Grilliot; four nieces; two nephews; and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Karola Maschmeyer.

The family would like to thank Partnership For Progress, Cass Inc. and Willow Heights for their outstanding care.

A Celebration Gathering will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m, Friday, October 28, 2016, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa. Following the gathering, Mike's roommates will host a time for fellowship and refreshments at 601 Linn Street, Atlantic.

A private interment of ashes will take place at Brighton Township Cemetery in Marne, Iowa.
