Micheal "Mick" Lee Kauzlarich was born October 8, 1959, to Micheal and Karen Kauzlarich in Centerville, Iowa. He was a 1978 Centerville High School graduate where he was a standout athlete. He went on to get his bachelors of arts degree in K-12 Physical Education at William Penn University, where he was also a standout football player. After graduation, he returned to his Alma-mater, Centerville High School, where he taught and was the head football and girls track coach. He married his bride Peggy Cook of Oskaloosa in 1986.

One of his most proud moments at CHS was leading the girls track team to a state championship. Later he and his wife, Peggy, purchased the Konvenience Korner in Moulton, Iowa. They ran the store for 17 years while their children attended Moulton-Udell elementary and middle school. During his time in Moulton he was an avid community supporter, a founding member of a semi-pro float building team and supporter of Moulton youth athletics including the Moulton tee-ball team, little league president, youth basketball program and E-HAWK youth football team where he coached and mentored his sons Micheal and Kyle and daughter Alexis and countless other youth.

Later, Mick returned to teaching and coaching at Centerville High School and Putnam County before spending the last eleven years of his career at Davis County schools where he taught physical education, coached high school and junior high sports, and mentored student athletes in the weight room.

Mick was an extremely passionate, tough coach and mentor. He was at his best when working with students in their athletic pursuits where he instilled many lifelong lessons and high standards in those he worked with. When not teaching or coaching, Mick enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends. He was creative and enjoyed taking on home projects and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always made time to watch his kids and grandchildren participate and coach in athletic events of their own.

Mick is survived by his wife, Peggy Kauzlarich; his children, son, Kyle (Blair) Kauzlarich, son, Micheal (Annie) Kauzlarich, and daughter, Alexis Kauzlarich; stepchildren, Todd Kirby, CJ (Lura) Kirby, and Buffy (Doug) Hurley; parents, Micheal and Karen Kauzlarich; siblings, Tammy (Doug) Ramos, Tim (Molly) Kauzlarich, Zig (Micki) Kauzlarich, Terry (Sheila) Kauzlarich, Lori (Jay) Leach, Rick (Melissa) Kauzlarich; as well loving 10 grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made out to Davis County Community School System, memorial funds will be designated for the schools weight room.
