Nancy Eilts

Nancy Rae Eilts, 68, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015, at Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic.

She was born October 29, 1946, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Velma (Maas) Eilts.

She attended school in Decatur County, Iowa, and also attended sheltered workshops in Chariton and Fairfield, Iowa. Since 1994 she was a resident of Atlantic Specialty Care.

Nancy struggled with health issues all her life, yet she enjoyed working at the sheltered workshops and personally making crafts and ceramics. She loved music.

She was a member of the Van Wert Christian Church. Her faith was important to her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Velma Eilts; stepmother, Dorothy Sorensen Eilts; and stepbrother, Jerry Sorensen.

She is survived by sisters, Juliann (Eugene) Topolewski of Atlantic, Iowa, Carolyn (Michael) Easton of Burnsville, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Ramona Sorensen of Anita, Iowa; nephew and nieces, Theodore (Kimberly Love) Topolewski of Silver Spring, Maryland, Gina (Neil) Cohen of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Jennifer (Farhad) Easton Farkish of Hanover, Maryland, Gretchen Easton of Los Angeles, California; and great-nephew, Theodore Topolewski of Silver Spring, Maryland.

A private family burial was held on October 29, 2015, in the Massena Center Cemetery, Massena, Iowa.

A memorial service is being held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Christian Church in Bridgewater, Iowa.

Family will visit with friends at a luncheon in the church fellowship hall following the memorial service.
