Nancy Leigh Templeman

November 30, 1960 — December 24, 2023

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Nancy Leigh Wede Templeman, 63, on December 24, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa. Nancy was born to Alfred and Genevieve Wede on November 30, 1960, in Harlan, IA.

Nancy devoted her life to helping her family and community. Her actions were purposeful and unwavering, and she will be remembered for her kindness and compassion. As a proud mother and a devoted grandmother, she dedicated herself to caring for and loving her family. She was an active part of her three sons' lives, helping to mold the men they would become. She volunteered at countless school and community events, opening her home and heart to those around her. Among her many joys in life were her grandchildren, and although she loved all of them fiercely, she was particularly close to Madison and Eden, who brought her immense happiness and filled her home with joy and laughter.

Nancy was the owner and operator of a childcare business for several years, impacting and caring for numerous young lives. After several years, she decided to challenge herself and enrolled in Iowa Western Community College and later Buena Vista College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Nancy utilized her degree and talents in various ways, including working for Olsen Fuel, Cass County Memorial Hospital, and for St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Tim Templeman; her sons Branden (Christina) Kemp, Trevor (Kari Vrban) Templeman, and Justen (Tara) Templeman; her grandchildren, Lily, Owen, Rigby, Madison, and Eden; her mother, Genevieve Wede; her siblings, Rodney Wede and Scott (Jill) Wede, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Wede, and her brother, Sonny Wede.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic, IA, with Rev. Lauri Boysen officiating the service. A visitation will be held before the memorial service starting at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. A luncheon will be held following the service in the reception hall of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
