Mrs. Nona Kopp

Nona Kopp, age 88, of Anita, IA, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Heritage House in Atlantic, IA.

Nona was born in 1934, and her daddy had said that she was the only thing the farm produced that year in the "dirty thirties." She grew up on a farm north of Anita. Nona married George Kopp in 1956, and they raised three children on their farm. Over the years, Nona and George traveled on many wonderful trips, and she traveled with her sister Nyla and with her children. Nona loved her local community, and she strongly believed that there was no better place than Anita, Iowa. She enjoyed many wonderful friendships here and with her extended family. She was active in her church, the VFW, and other local organizations. She also enjoyed playing cards and reading.

Nona was preceded in death by her loving husband, George, by her parents Belle and Lars Christensen, and by her brother Allen.

She is survived by her children Kris (Gary) Lynch, Frank (Grace) Kopp, and David (Jennifer) Kopp, as well as 12 grands and great-grands who are all smart, talented, and the best kids imaginable; her sister Nyla Davis, and brother Warren Christensen.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Anita United Methodist Church, with interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Anita.

A luncheon will be held following the committal in the reception hall of the United Methodist Church.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, also held on Friday at the church.
