Paul A Peterson

Paul A. Peterson, age 83, of Atlantic, IA, formerly of Radcliffe, IA, passed away at his home in Atlantic on Monday, August 7, 2023.

Paul was born May 7, 1940, in Iowa Falls, IA, to the parents of Clarence and Charlotte Peterson. The family lived on a farm in Buckeye, IA. Paul graduated from Radcliffe High School in Radcliffe, IA, in 1958. After graduation, he served in the air force reserves, as well as farmed with his dad, and worked in construction.

On April 22, 1962, he married Mary Ann Hinderaker in Radcliffe, IA. They were blessed with three children:  Teresa, Stacey, and Robert.  In 1965, Paul and Mary moved to Atlantic, IA, where Paul eventually started his own construction company. Paul enjoyed attending St. Paul's Lutheran Church, The Elk's, and playing golf at the Nishina Hills Golf course.  It was important for Paul that people know that Jesus loves YOU and ALWAYS will.

He is survived by his wife Mary, children Teresa (Jay) Jordan of Gretna, NE, Stacey Misner of Atlantic, and Robert (Kari) Peterson of Wildwood, MO. His sister, Cythnia Peterson of Corning, IA.; and seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Clarence Peterson, his brother John Peterson of Webster City, IA, and son-in-law Charles Misner of Atlantic, IA; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.

Open visitation with family will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA (1804 E 7th St. Atlantic, IA 50022).

Funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, IA (601 Isabella St. Radcliffe, IA 50230), with a burial to follow at the Radcliffe Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family in honor of Paul to be designated for a later date. They may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.
