Paula Randeris

Paula Barbette Randeris, the daughter of Paul and Barbara Beatrice (Gross) Wise, was born August 8, 1955, at Mytrue Memorial Hospital in Harlan, Iowa and died November 11, 2019, at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 3 days.

She attended AvoHa Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1974. She then worked at the nursing home in Avoca for a short time.

On February 15, 1975, she was united in marriage to Gary Randeris at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avoca, Iowa. Two children, Jason and Barbara were born to this union. They made their home on a farm near Kirkman, Iowa. She helped Gary farm for 10 years and then was employed at the Salem Lutheran Nursing Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. In 1992, the family moved to Audubon, Iowa where she then worked for the Friendship Home in Audubon where she currently still worked until her death.

Paula was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avoca, St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon. She was an avid reader and always had a large vegetable garden and she and Gary loved to can their produce from the garden.

Preceding her in death is her daughter, Barbara Randeris; her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; her sister, Bernadine and husband Bud Burley; and her brothers, George Wise, Francis Wise, and Michael Wise.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Randeris of Audubon, Iowa; her son, Jason and wife Minden Randeris of Denison, Iowa; her grandchildren, Wyatt and Ashton Randeris both of Denison; her sisters, Theota and husband Lonn Nelsen of Avoca, Iowa, Carolyn and husband Dennis Piittmann of Avoca, and Margie Szadis of Walnut, Iowa; her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Wise and Connie Wise both of Avoca; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will meet with friends on Friday, November 15, 2019, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a rosary held at 7:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be conducted by Father David Nkrumah on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Audubon. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. Casket bearers will be Matt Randeris, Dan Christensen, Chad Petersen, Ryan Johnson, Wes Bartelson, and Jim Wiskus.
