Phillip David Fraser

July 10, 1961 — December 16, 2023

With grieving hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Phillip David Fraser of Adair, IA on December 16, 2023, near his home in Adair, IA. He was born on July 10, 1961, in New York state, and at age 2, became the son of David and Elizabeth (Saunders) Fraser.

He grew up in Queens, NY where he attended various schools, upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves was a wire system installer. After being honorable discharged, He met Debra Dukes and they shared their first daughter, Jannah Fraser. Later, Phillip would move back to New York where he met and married Florence Cooper and they welcomed their children, Stephanie Fraser, and David Fraser and lastly, Jessica Fraser.

Phillip would later move to Florida to be with his mother, during his father’s illness and his passing. He returned to Virginia before deciding to follow his life’s dreams of becoming an over the road truck driver, and that’s when he moved to Iowa and earned his CDL and going to work for G&H Motor Freight Line out of Greenfield, Iowa making his home in Adair. He loved trucking more than anything. Was well known in Walmart, Dollar General Store and Casy’s.

One thing about Phillip, he always wanted to leave a smile on your face after talking with you. He always said, don’t complain, cause for everything you complain about, there are three things you could praise about.

Phillip was preceded in death by his father, David Fraser, a sister, Pat and a brother, Robert. He leaves to mourn: his mother, Elizabeth Fraser; his ex-wife, Florence Fraser and children, Jannah Fraser, Stephanie Fraser, David Fraser, Jessica Fraser, Christina Cooper, and Joseph Cooper; three grandchildren, Serenity, Ashton and Ayah and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He had many special people who were in his life, they include Lyn Sliger, Amy Budd, Pam Brown, and Ramona Covey, just to name a few. Just know that you touched Phillip’s heart in more ways than you can imagine. We will always carry you in our hearts and in our minds, Phillip. You completed your course, you fought your best fight, and now enter into your rest.
