Regina Lavina Larson, 103, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Atlantic Nursing & Rehab Center in Atlantic, Iowa.
She was born December 21, 1911, the daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth (Albright) Abbey, in Mt. Etna, Iowa. Regina attended grade school and high school in Creston, Iowa. After high school, she then went on to Creston Jr. College for two years and Simpson College for 2 years after that.
Regina was united in marriage to James Reginald Larson on December 24, 1935. Reginald was an attorney and Regina worked as a secretary for law offices for 62 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Browning Club and the United Methodist Women.
She was survived by her two nephews, Duane (Mary) Abbey of Ames, Iowa, Nathan (Kim) Abbey of Des Moines, IA and her niece, Lisa Bell of Pensacola, FL; other relatives and friends.
Regina was preceded in death by her husband James Reginald; parents, Herbert and Elizabeth Abbey; brothers, Carroll Herbert Abbey and one brother Duane at the age of 2.
Regina's family request memorials to the First United Methodist Church of Atlantic, Iowa.
Open viewing will take place from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2015.
Graveside services and interment are still pending for a later date.
