Rhonda Eileen Olson

Rhonda Eileen Olson, the daughter of Arthur and Carol (Popp) Malloy, was born November 14, 1962, in Harlan, Iowa and died surrounded by her family on June 3, 2022, at her home in rural Audubon County, Iowa at the age of 59, years, 6 months, and 19 days.

Rhonda was baptized at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. She attended the Audubon Community Schools graduating with the Class of 1981. Rhonda then was employed at various local businesses for several years.
On June 18, 1988, she was united in marriage to Kim Olson at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. They were blessed with two daughters Chassity and Allison.

Rhonda was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed many things in her life. She was an avid shopper, always looking for a good bargain and she found particular enjoyment in garage sales days around the region. For those that visited her home, you knew she not only had a knack for decorative themes over the years (e.g., baskets, crocks, horses, and the like), but she loved to clean and her house was always guest ready. Bowling was her sport hobby where she played with various teams at the Manning bowling center over the years. Being outside in the sun pretty much doing anything was her summertime fun. In recent years, she would speak about enjoyment she had meeting her many friends for coffee and pastries. But her greatest passion was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Hours, days and weeks spent playing school, rocking while telling stories, or simply watching a movie while enjoying some popcorn. Rhonda was generous to others and will be missed by all.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her fathers-in-law Willis Olson and John “Jack” Weighton.

Survivors include her husband Kim Olson of Audubon, Iowa; her daughters: Chassity and husband Joel Musfeldt of Audubon, Iowa, and Allison and husband Derek Crow of Pleasantville , Iowa; her grandchildren Mila Irlbeck and Camden Musfeldt both of Audubon, Iowa; her brothers Bob Malloy of Carroll, Iowa; Randy Malloy of Audubon, Iowa; Ron Malloy of Walnut, Iowa and Rich Malloy of Redmond, Washington; her brother-in-law Craig Olson of West Des Moines, Iowa and mother-in-law Sharlette Weighton of Audubon, Iowa as well as her beloved dog Diesel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering Thursday evening, June 9, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. Interment will take place at a later date. Honorary casket bearers are Mila Irlbeck and Camden Musfeldt
