Robert Dean Hagen, age 97 of Anita, Iowa, passed away on December 14, 2022, at his home in Anita. He was born the son of Adolph and Katie (Whitcomb) Hagen on November 5, 1925, in Cumberland, Iowa.
After graduation from Anita High School in 1943, he entered the US Navy and served honorably until his discharge in 1946.
On July 13, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Joyce E. Aupperle in Adair, Iowa. To this union, five children were born. He owned and operated Hagen Produce and Hagen Farm Service for many years before his retirement. Bob was a member of the Anita Fire Department for over 14 years and was particularly proud of his black Angus cattle that he raised.
Bob is survived by his children, Rod Hagen of Anita, Jeff (Angela) Hagen of Grimes, IA, Jerry Hagen of Anita, and Janet (Clint) Spry of Anita; daughter-in-law, Trudy Hagen of Atlantic, IA; Seven grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce in 2006; his son, Randy in 2017; his brothers, LuDell, Walt, Don, Bill and Charles; his sisters, Doris, Sue, Janet and Florene.
Celebration of Life visitation with the family present will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 10 am till 12 pm at the Anita Community Center in Anita followed by a Military Honors service at Evergreen Cemetery in Antia. Memorials can be made to either the American Legion Post 210 of Anita or Anita United Methodist Church and can be left or mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home at P.O. Box 523 - Atlantic, IA.
