Ronald Earl Boehme, 69, of Elk Horn, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa.

He was born January 17, 1949, in Audubon, Iowa, the son of Earl R. and Marie Pearl (Whitford) Boehme. Ronald grew up in the Audubon and Exira area and attended school in Audubon, Exira and Atlantic. He received his GED while serving with the US Army. While serving in the US Army, he was stationed in Washington and Ft. Riley, Kansas.

Ronald worked at Cass Inc. in Atlantic, Iowa. He enjoyed watching sports, fishing, hunting rabbits, shopping, and listening to country music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Boehme; a sister, Jan Gustin; brothers-in-law, Allen Schaaf and Edward Gustin; and four nephews, Carl Warren Swolley, Shawn Gustin, Stanley Lillard and Tommy Gustin.

Ronald is survived by four sisters, Karen (Bill) Lillard of Atlantic, IA, Marlene (Dale) Dickerson of Green Bay, WI, Sharyl (Ray) Brooks of Urbandale, IA and Donna Schaaf of Indianola, IA; nieces and nephews, Marilee Warren of Cabot, AR, Steven Gustin of Adair, IA, Cindy Doer of Des Moines, IA, Darren Swolley of Indianola, IA, Mick Swolley of Chicago, IL, Lisa Schaaf of West Des Moines, IA, Troy (Sarah) Schaaf of Urbandale, IA and Dan (Meagan) Schaaf of Clive, IA; and by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation with family will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., with a funeral service starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Burial will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.

Memorials may be left to the family’s wishes.
