Ronald Lee Kunce

Ronald Lee Kunce, the son of Nile J. and Emma (Volkmer) Kunce, was born June 15, 1944, at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa and died November 28, 2019, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 5 months, and 13 days.

On June 1, 1963, he was united in marriage to Irene McCrea at the Lutheran Church in Jefferson. They made their home in Greene County and two daughters were born to this union. Ronald was employed at Franklin Manufacturing in Jefferson as a supervisor for 15 years. During this time he also helped his father-in-law paint residential houses. He then worked for West Central in Jefferson for several years until he was transferred to Audubon, Iowa. They made Audubon home in 1993. He continued to work for West Central in Audubon as the Yard Manager until he retired in 2003.

Ronald loved watching and going to the local stock car races and continually followed Larry Silbaugh from Jefferson for many years. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR with Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. as his favorites. Ronald was an avid coin collector and also collected numerous die cast stock cars. He took great pleasure in playing the lottery and spoiling his dog Buddy.

Preceding him in death is his parents; his brother, Terry Kunce; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hugh McCrea and Violet McCrea Moore; and his brothers-in-law, Charles McCrea and Jim McCrea.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Kunce of Audubon, Iowa; his daughters, Viki and husband Tom Moore of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Rhonda and husband Mike Shriver of Audubon; his grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Craig Lundgren of Shenandoah, Iowa, Heather and husband Phillip Holmes of Arcadia, Iowa, Melissa and husband Chayse Hudson of Angier, North Carolina, Adon Shriver and his significant other Maison Lebeck both of Templeton, Iowa, Michaela Shriver and her significant other Tyler Olmstead both of Guthrie Center, Iowa; his great grandchildren, Landon, Brooklyn, Evelyn, Jocelynn, Teagan, Emma, Caleb, Penelope, Roderick, Izan, Remi, and Roran; his sister, Linda Daubert and her significant other Chris Lass both of Scranton, Iowa; his special companion, Buddy; other relatives and friends.
