Sandra Jean (Bechtol) Ludwig, age 86, of rural Menlo, IA, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA.
Jean was born on July 26, 1937, south of Adair. She attended country school and later the Adair Community Schools. On November 18, 1955, she was united in marriage to Marvin Lee Ludwig; together, they had three daughters. Jean enjoyed cooking, gardening, and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her daughter, Brenda; and her three brothers, William Lowry, Jack Bechtol, and Richard Bechtol.
Jean leaves behind two daughters, Dawn Ludwig and Cindy Ludwig; four grandchildren, Dustin Michaels, Jessi Michaels, Dani Crawford, and Colton Crawford; two sisters, Marge Sublett and Janelle Bechtol; and special friend, Becky O'Brien; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held. The interment will take place at Sunnyhill Cemetery in Adair, IA.
Memorials may be directed to the Ludwig Family in memory of Jean. They will be designated at a later date and may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.
Funeral arrangements are handled with the Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Adair.
