Sharon Kay Campbell, 60, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.

She was born September 26, 1952, in Atlantic, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and M. Jean (McDermott) Rhoads. She grew up in Lewis, Iowa, with her family and attended the Griswold Community Schools graduating from Griswold High School. On May 23, 1981, she was united in marriage to Dennis Michael Campbell in Lewis, Iowa. They moved to Atlantic, Iowa, ten years ago. Sharon worked for many years in the Atlantic and Lewis communities.

Sharon had a great love for her family and it was an unmeasurable love. She was the keeper of the family knowledge and was great at it, keeping track of all the birthdays and important dates. She was also an excellent seamstress and made Christmas bags every year, as Christmas was her favorite holiday.

She was preceded in death by parents, Russell and Jean Rhoads; her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Norma Campbell; her brother, Robert Rhoads; and her sister-in-law, Darla Rudolph.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Dennis Campbell and her daughter, Meagan Campbell, both of Atlantic, Iowa; her brother, Richard (Ilene) Rhoads of Lewis, IA; her sister, Marilyn (Paul) McLaren of Lewis, IA; her sisters-in-law, Delyte (Dale) Borkowski of Audubon, IA, Diane (Pete) Olson of Griswold, IA and Dawn (Raymond) Meyer; brother-in-law, Darryl (Trish) Campbell of Nebraska City, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa.

Visitation with family will be Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Hockenberry Funeral Home in Atlantic.


Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Lewis, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used per Sharon's wishes.
