Sherrill Ann Huffman

Sherrill Ann Huffman, the daughter of Harvey and Barbara (Dunn) Larsen, was born January 2, 1960, at the Audubon Hospital in Audubon, Iowa and died February 21, 2022, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 62 years, 1 month and 19 days.

Sherrill was baptized and confirmed at the Exira Lutheran Church in Exira. She attended the Exira Community Schools graduating with the High School Class of 1978. Sherrill then was employed at her father’s car dealership Larson Ford as a secretary.

On June 9, 1990, she was united in marriage to Larry Dean Huffman at the Exira Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two children, Damon and Kalin. They moved to Audubon and Sherrill continued working at the dealership until it closed in December of 2004. Sherrill then was a dietary aide at the Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa for a number of years. Most recently she was employed at the Feedmill Restaurant for the past few years.

Sherrill was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. She enjoyed being outdoors, riding bicycle and hiking at her favorite vacation area, Estes Park in Colorado. Sherrill also loved her pug dogs.

Preceding her in death was her son Damon Huffman; her parents; her brother Edward Larsen; her brother-in-law Russ McCune; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law Ralph and Winona Huffman.

Survivors include her husband Larry Huffman of Audubon, Iowa; her daughter Kalin and husband Mike Birkel of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her sister Sandy and husband Rev. Gordon Buchholz of Audubon; her sister-in-law Patti McCune of Omaha, Nebraska; her nieces, Christy Trout of Omaha, Nebraska, and Carrie and husband Jason Riley of Sarasota, Florida; her great nieces and great nephews: Bryce Trout, Brenden and wife MacKenzie Trout and Brinley Trout all of Omaha; and Cadyn Riley of Sarasota; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Audubon with Pastor Dan Beattie officiating. Interment will be in the Exira Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Friday, February 25th from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon. The honorary casket bearer will be Danny Scharff. Casket bearers will be Bryce Trout, Brenden Trout, Gary Vais, Greg Baier, Rich Pross, Mike Birkel and Doug Gifford.
