Thomas Harry Larsen

Mr. Thomas Larsen, age 72, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 05, 2026, at Atlantic Specialty Care. He was born on June 23, 1953.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Phyllis Larsen, and his sister, Rhonda Goetz. He is survived by his sister, Angie Petersen; his cousins, Gary Stetzel and Sandy Hayes, with whom he shared a close bond; and many extended family members.

He is also survived by his children, Rhea Larsen and Jacob Larsen (Tisha), as well as his grandchildren Kayleb, Tyler, and Hannah. He leaves behind step-grandchildren Spencer (Alyssa), Tanner (Payton), and several great-grandchildren.

Thomas spent his life working as a welder, taking great pride in his craft and the work he did. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing—especially catfishing—along with grilling, camping, and taking care of his vehicles. He was known for his storytelling, his independent spirit, and the simple, meaningful ways he showed love—like always having cookies ready for his grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his strength, his stories, and the quiet ways he cared for those around him.

No formal services will be held. A cremation will take place at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic.
