Verdine Louise Cutler 89, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.

Verdine was born February 13, 1927, in Audubon County, Iowa, to Peter Charles and Alma (Andreasen) Hansen. She grew up in the Audubon area and graduated from Audubon High School in 1945. She then attended and graduated from the Capital Beauty School in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1946.

She married Carroll Richard Cutler on July 17, 1952, in Woodbine, Iowa. Verdine worked as a hairdresser in Atlantic as well as owning Cutler Beauty Salon for over 25 years. She had been a resident of Atlantic since the early 1960s.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic, IA, the church altar guild and St. Paul's Church Women. Verdine enjoyed quilting and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons in infancy; a brother, Charles; and two sisters, Phyllis and Luella.

Verdine is survived by four sons; Carroll (Blythe) Cutler Jr. of Sidney, OH, Collins (Sherie) Cutler of Marne, IA, Carter (Cathy) Cutler of Kansas City, MO and Clinton (Kristin) Cutler of Plymouth, MN; three daughters, Calla (Bruce) Poldberg of Kimballton, IA, Catherine Cutler and her friend, Kirby Salisbury of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ceciley (Danny) Hernandez of Magnolia, TX; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic, Iowa.

Burial will be in Wiota Cemetery, Wiota, Iowa.
