Mrs. Gerry Robinson

July 27, 1932 — October 29, 2022

Geraldine “Gerry” Elaine Robinson, the daughter of Harry and Maude (Nymeyer) Moore, was born July 27, 1932, in Hampton, Iowa, and entered into her Heavenly home on October 29, 2022.

Gerry graduated from Hampton High School in 1950. She graduated from Simpson College with an Elementary Education Teaching Degree in 1952. She taught 4th and 5th grades in Mapleton, IA for 3 years. She moved to Atlantic, IA and married Keith Robinson on June 5, 1955, and they were wonderful parents to five children: Terri, Toni, Tom, Ted and Trish.

Gerry loved music and played the saxophone and piano. She was a member of Delta, Delta, Delta Sorority at Simpson College. Gerry was active in the First United Methodist Church, taught Sunday school and was involved in various church circles. She was a Girl Scout leader, active in the PTA and a room mother many times. Gerry was a member of her neighborhood OS & C club and enjoyed a monthly card group with Keith. Gerry and Keith loved to travel and went to many places including Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and the Panama Canal as well as all the Big Ten football stadiums cheering on her beloved Hawkeyes. They spent many winters in Arizona and enjoyed many wonderful memories with their Arizona families and friends. They so enjoyed their life together, farming, raising their children and enjoying their grandchildren.

She created such a happy and loving home. She was very supportive of her children and she and Keith attended every activity that they were involved with as well as many that the grandchildren were involved in. She was a terrific cook and prepared wonderful meals for her family and those that helped on the farm. Her meals almost always had a meat, potato, vegetable, fruit, bread and dessert and were always eaten around the table unless she was taking it to the guys in the field (or the Hawks were on TV). Her pies and cream puffs were just some of her specialties. She always made everyone’s favorite cake for their birthdays and our favorite foods for the many Hawkeye tailgates they hosted.

Gerry went from teaching in the classroom to reading to and teaching her children and grandchildren so many life lessons that will stay with them always.

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; her parents, Harry and Maude Moore; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Ethel Robinson; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Velma Moore and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dean and Marjorie Robinson.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri (Alan) Gangestad of Omaha, NE, and their children, Kate (Mitch) Thiel, Brent (Erin) Gangestad, Jenna (Paul) Ketchen, and Andrew (Stephanie) Gangestad; daughter, Toni (Dan) Mason of Chandler, AZ and their children, Courtney (Thomas) Starr and Drew (Riley) Mason; son, Tom (Lori) Robinson of Atlantic, IA and their children, Jill Robinson (Danny Law), Joe (Heather) Robinson, Jay (Mallory) Robinson and Jesse (Laura) Robinson; son, Ted (Mary Jo) Robinson of Atlantic, IA and their children, Nathan (Lenzi) Robinson, Samantha Robinson, James (Jessica) Robinson, and Abby Robinson; daughter, Trish (Jeff) Nelson of Audubon, IA and their children, Bailey (Trevor) Smith and Kasey Jo Nelson; as well as 18 great-grandchildren: Griffin, Adaline, Elliott, Kennedy, Kayden, Evelyn, Charlotte, Clara Jo, Max, Kamden, Olivia, Hallie, Quincy, Lane, Quade, Joely, Nicolas and Isabella; and many nieces and nephews.

Gerry will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her husband and family, her quiet, polite, gentle grace, and the abundance of lessons she taught all who knew her. She will be Forever In Our Hearts.

The family would like to thank the many people for the wonderful care she received over the years.
