Harry James Tupper III, age 75, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at his residence in Atlantic, IA.

Harry was born on March 7, 1946, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Harry James Tupper Jr. and Doris Louise (Johnson) Tupper. As a child Harry grew up and attended Oakland schools graduating in the class of 1964. On April 12, 1966, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Morton. In 1965 he joined the U.S. Navy and served till 1969 as an Aviation Storekeeper. Harry worked for the Iowa DOT for thirty-seven and half years.

Harry’s hobbies included camping, motorcycle riding and target shooting. He was known to be in Massena or at the Audubon County Conservation practicing his marksmanship. He also enjoyed riding his Gold Wing motorcycle or going on a camping trip just about anywhere he and Dorothy landed.

Preceded in Harry’s death are his parents.

Harry is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Atlantic, IA; son Richard (Ali) Tupper of Atlantic, IA and daughter Heather (David) Christensen of Racine, WI; grandchildren, Kelsey (TJ), Jordan, Annie, Emnett (Emily), Louisa, Beatrix, Jesper, and Mabel; great-grandchildren, Mason, Kaemyn, Drake, Arabella, Wren; stepmother, Susan Tupper of Harlan, IA, stepbrothers Randy (Cathy) Jensen of Jacksonville, IA, Mike (Thresa) Jensen of Kimballton, IA; and a brother Scott Tupper of Sedona, AZ.

An open visitation will be on Monday, September 6, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with family present at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home, formerly Hockenberry Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA.

Memorials may be given to the Tupper Family to designate to charities at a later date.

The staff at Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa, is handling the arrangements.
