Paula L. Pringnitz, age 61, of Anita, IA, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at her residence in Anita, IA.
Paula Lynn Pringnitz was born on December 14, 1960, to Homer and Margaret (Hadley) Pringnitz at Park Hospital in Mason City, Iowa.
Paula came home to live on the farm south of Clear Lake, Iowa until moving to Anita, Iowa in 1973. Paula moved with the family to Boone, Iowa in 1977 for one year and then moved back to Clear Lake where she graduated from Clear Lake High School in May of 1979. Paula then moved to Anita with her family in the summer of 1979.
Paula attended Iowa Western Community College where she received a diploma in child development. Paula moved to Phoenix, Arizona with one of her best friends, Kerri Harris, where they shared an apartment until 1985. Paula moved to Austin, Texas where she lived until 2006, making her way back to Anita where she was currently residing. While in Texas, she worked as an insurance agent obtaining her licensure in insurance where she ultimately became an insurance underwriter. Paula was working in the insurance industry at the time of her passing. Paula especially enjoyed her time working at HyVee and the friendships she made there.
Paula could often be seen riding around Anita and mowing lawns all summer. She really did not like the winter, but she did take that time to take extra care of her many plants as she was quite the green thumb. Paula enjoyed meeting people and could talk to anyone she met with a smile on her face and a joke or story to tell. Paula had a deep love for all children, especially her nieces and great-niece, and nephew. Paula was always the fun aunt who would do fun activities or play games with them. Paula was so proud of her great-niece Hadley and nephew Ayden whom she loved and was helping Ayden to have a nutcracker collection.
Paula had a wonderful vacation to London with her mom in 1998 which was one she cherished until her death. Paula achieved one of her dreams to own a convertible which she bought in 2018 and was one of her cherished possessions.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Margaret Pringnitz, Florence and Harry Pringnitz and Josiah and Minnie Hadley, several aunts and uncles, and her special friend Kerri Harris Hicks.
Paula is survived by her sister Cathay from Anita; brother Randy (Becky) from Leander Texas, nieces Amber from Polk City, Iowa, Lindy (Clark); Jordan (Harold) Yeager, and children Ayden and Hadley all of Anita. Aunts Jackie (Don) Trca from Garner, Iowa and June Pringnitz from Clive, Iowa, and several cousins; adopted sister and niece Valerie Riley and Julie Pena; and her special friends Tracy, Jennifer, Julie, Dave and Diane, and Donnie; and her adopted niece Shaley Jones.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Anita, IA., committal will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Anita. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service.
Memorials may be directed to the family and will be designated to many of her favorite local charities and may be left or mailed to Schmidt Family Funeral Home (PO Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022).
